My Bio

For years, I’ve shown up—in our PTA meetings, through Saturday tutoring, and alongside parents advocating for their children. As a mother of two students in Farmington Public Schools, this work is personal.

What pushed me to run was realizing that helping families navigate challenges must go hand in hand with addressing those challenges at the board table. Families deserve to be heard. Teachers deserve support. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

I’m Santoria Shepherd, and I’m not running to begin serving. I’m running to expand the service I’m already providing—with informed decisions, transparent leadership, and accountability with action

My Key Issues

My policy priorities are strengthening literacy and math achievement through early intervention; supporting teachers with the resources and professional development they need; ensuring students with disabilities and advanced learners receive appropriate support; and creating safe, welcoming schools. I will also prioritize meaningful family engagement, transparent budgeting, and accountability for student outcomes.

My policy focus is improving student achievement and strengthening family engagement, guided by my three E’s:

  1. Engaging Families: Give parents a meaningful voice through accessible communication, transparency, and collaboration.
  2. Elevating Learning: Strengthen literacy and math, support teachers, and ensure students with disabilities and advanced learners receive the support they need.
  3. Embracing the Future: Expand STEAM, career pathways, and skilled trades opportunities while maintaining safe, welcoming schools.

I believe in accountability with action, transparency with honesty, and belonging by design.
